Every year, women from all over Plymouth unite with one purpose – to beat cancer.

Now we’re just days away from the return of the inspirational Plymouth Race for Life – and it’s sure not to disappoint.

Thousands will burst with pride come the big day to run, jog and walk for Cancer Research UK.

The 5k route is suitable for all ages and allows everyone to have some fun whilst supporting an incredible cause.

Here’s everything you need to know about the occasion.

The race takes place on Sunday June, 17, and starts at 11am.

Children: £10.00
Women: £14.99
Young Women: £14.99
Under 6 entry (Girls and boys): free and no registration needed

Venue: The Hoe, Hoe Promenade, Plymouth, PL1 2PA

Distance: 5k

The course

The Plymouth route starts and finishes on the picturesque Hoe promenade, adjacent to Smeaton’s Tower, and provides fantastic views of the sea and a great atmosphere.

The course is all on paved paths and follows closed roads around the Hoe and pathways in Hoe Gardens, so please do expect some hills.

The start line is on the Hoe promenade, adjacent to Smeaton’s Tower.

Runners are being told to arrive one hour before the start of the race.

There is no designated event car park, however there are multiple city centre car parks nearby.

Plymouth train station is about a 25 minute walk away from the event, and the bus station is about a 15 minute walk away.

Alternatively, consider a carpool in a taxi with friends.

This event is suitable for wheelchair users, however there are a few steep inclines and descents on the course, so assistance is recommended.

Don’t forget to bring your friends and family along to support you.

They can stroll around the various stalls we’lll have that will be providing entertainment, face painting and refreshments.

They can also listen to musical entertainment on the course while cheering you on.
