Folks,

Help Us Reach Our Goal

Payday is flying out to Rochester, New York to cover the General Motors Strike. We intend to start in Rochester, where we have some connections, and travel throughout the Rust Belt covering the strike.

We were the first national outlet to cover the news of the brewing West Virginia teachers’ strike back in December 2017. Thanks to reader donations, we were one of a handful of outlets with a reporter on the ground in all five states with teachers’ strike last year:  in West VirginiaOklahomaArizona, Kentucky and North Carolina.

We were on the ground when the UAW was defeated at Nissan’s plant in Canton, Mississippi in the summer of 2017; filing more stories than any other outlet in the US. We were there on the ground in Chattanooga when the UAW was defeated earlier this summer; once again filing more stories than another other national outlets.

We intend to lead like we always do on the General Motors strike, but we need your help as readers to cover our travel costs.

Donate today and help us cover this story.
