The KTM 790 Adventure R Rally joins the KTM 790 Adventure and the KTM 790 Adventure R models in the middleweight adventure bike category.
KTM has announced a limited edition model of its middleweight adventure bike with even more off-road focussed suspension, unique colour and graphic design with a clear screen and winglets. The KTM 790 Adventure R Rally will be limited to just 500 units worldwide, and comes kitted with narrower wheels with tubed tyres for off-road use, Rally footrests for added grip, and a weight-saving Akrapovic exhaust, carbon fibre tank protectors and standard quickshifter. The 790 Adventure R Rally joins the KTM 790 Adventure family with the same steel trellis frame and LC8c 799 cc parallel-twin engine, which puts out 95 bhp at 8,250 rpm and 89 Nm of peak torque kicking in at 6,500 rpm.

The primary difference is of course the rally-spec suspension. The KTM 790 Adventure R already had top-spec, full-adjustable 48 mm WP closed-cartridge Xplor fork, and now the 790 Adventure R Rally offers even more suspension travel, adding 30 mm of suspension travel. The WP Xplor Pro 7548 fork on the KTM 790 Adventure R Rally uses cone valve technology – a unique valve system that permits almost limitless damping performance and combines comfort with bottoming resistance. Seat height though has increased to 910 mm on the 790 Adventure R Rally.
The KTM 790 Adventure range already has serious off-road credentials, and now the 790 Adventure R Rally joins the standard KTM 790 Adventure and the 790 Adventure R with even more hardcore off-road ability, to the level of full rally-spec capability. Sadly though, the KTM 790 Adventure is still not offered on sale in India, despite a booming middleweight adventure segment with the likes of the Triumph Tiger 800, Ducati Multistrada 950 and the BMW F 850 GS eliciting quite a bit of market interest. Looks like the limited edition KTM 790 Adventure R Rally will also not be offered on sale in India.
