Bosepop-upChangimainA ‘technologically savvy’ Bose pop-up store at Singapore Changi Airport is giving travellers the chance to experience ‘breakthrough technology’ before the rest of Asia Pacific, says the airport operator.

The partnership between Changi Airport Group (CAG) and the audio equipment manufacturer is showcasing the latter’s first audio sunglasses with augmented reality (AR) capability, Bose Frames, which are due to launch in Asia Pacific from 13 June.

Passengers can experience the innovation alongside Bose’s latest noise-cancellation headphones at the Changi-first pop-up concept shop at the Terminal 3 Transit Departure Hall (adjacent to The Shilla Duty Free store) from 5 June to 30 June.

Two immersive zones allows travellers to don the new audio frames and explore different scenes against the backdrop of a soundtrack. They can also try the noise-cancelling technology used in the headphones via sound domes.

The pop-up features a photobooth for travellers to take pictures and share them for a chance to win the Bose Frames.

Teo Chew Hoon, Group Senior Vice President of Airside Concessions, CAG said: “This technologically savvy pop-up store is an exciting collaboration between Bose and Changi Airport Group.

“The virtual reality concept will serve as a one-of-a-kind attraction, while the exclusive launch of the audio sunglasses will give Changi’s passengers the opportunity to experience a breakthrough innovation ahead of the rest of Asia Pacific.”

The first 30 travellers to purchase a pair of frames at the pop-up store will receive Blue Gradient Bose Lenses.

To celebrate the launch, the first 30 travellers to purchase a pair of Bose Frames at the pop-up shop will receive complimentary Blue Gradient Bose Lenses, while stocks last.

Meanwhile, every purchase of the Bose Frames on ishopChangi gain an exclusive Bose Water Bottle and Andino PowerTWIN 10,000mAh Quick Charge Powerbank. Changi Rewards members can also receive the water bottle upon purchase at the pop-up.

Christian Rojas, Market Development Leader, Focus Market Development, Bose said: “As an international hub for travellers, Changi Airport, and by extension Singapore, is the perfect location for the Asia Pacific launch of our latest product, the Bose Frames.

“Through engaging travel retail concepts like this, we are confident that the authentic Bose experience will be showcased and look forward to bringing high-quality sound to transit travellers at Changi Airport.”

The Bose Frames retail at S$229/US$167 with GST and S$279.44/US$204.73 without GST (travel retail) and are available in two designs enhanced with ‘premium accents and materials’, says Bose.

They are equipped with Bose AR technology, “a first-of-its-kind audio augmented reality platform that combines the power of next-gen Bose audio products with innovative mobile applications, creating fundamentally new ways to travel, exercise, learn, play and more”, says the manufacturer.

The frames can play music and take calls while blocking up to 99% of UVA/UVB rays when outdoors.
