If you’re a Cyclone football fan who’s been craving a road trip, the AutoZone Liberty Bowl just gave you the perfect excuse.

It’s been five year since ISU’s last bowl game, which, coincidentally, was also the Liberty Bowl. And even though head coach Matt Campbell’s new, six-year contract probably means the Cyclones will be playing in bowl games a bit more regularly in upcoming years, there are ample reasons to make the journey to Memphis.

For starters, the 2012 Liberty Bowl in Memphis was a blast, even though the Cyclones came up short against the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes, losing 31-17.

Plus, the Cyclones will be playing the Memphis Tigers. Since they have home-city advantage, #cyclONEnation will have to go the extra mile (or 649 miles, according to Google Maps) to get to the Liberty Bell Memorial Stadium to drown them out.
